About Neon Connect Four
Connect Four is a two-player strategy game in which players drop coloured discs into a vertical grid. It is easy enough for children and deep enough that strong players plan many moves ahead. A typical game lasts two to four minutes.
Our version adds a glowing 3D board and a computer opponent with two levels, so you can practise alone before you challenge a friend.
How to play Neon Connect Four
- Tap or click a column to drop your disc. It falls to the lowest empty space in that column.
- On a keyboard, move with ← and → and press ↓, Enter or Space to drop.
- Players take turns, one disc at a time.
Rules
- The board has 7 columns and 6 rows.
- Connect four of your own discs in a row — across, up and down, or diagonally — to win.
- If all 42 spaces fill up and nobody has four in a row, the game is a draw.
- In solo mode, pick Easy or Hard. Hard looks ahead and punishes mistakes.
Tips to win
- Take the middle column early: it is part of the most possible lines.
- Watch for “double threats” — two ways to win at once — because your opponent can only block one.
- Before every move, check whether your disc lets your rival win on top of it.
