Bonk Arena is a free, fast sumo brawl that you play right in your browser, with no download. You are a little blob on a glowing hex arena, and angry blobs keep dropping in from above. Dash into them and bonk them over the edge before they push you off. The longer you last, the tougher the crowd gets: quick zippy blobs, heavy tanks and bombers that explode when they fall. Every few seconds the outer ring of the floor breaks away, so the arena keeps getting smaller. Knock 'em all off. Don't fall. Grab power-ups, chain your knockouts into combos for bigger scores and try to beat your best.
How to play
- Computer: move with W A S D or the arrow keys and dash with Space or a mouse click.
- Phone: drag anywhere on the screen to move, and tap, flick or press the dash button to dash.
- P or Esc pauses the game. Sound can be switched on and off.
- Roll over a power-up to collect it: Mega makes you big and heavy, Shield saves you from one hit, Turbo makes you faster and lets you dash almost non-stop, and Freeze stops every enemy for a few seconds.
About Bonk Arena
Bonk Arena is an arcade arena brawler in the spirit of sumo: there are no health bars, only the edge. Every enemy you push off the arena scores points, and falling off yourself ends the run.
There are four kinds of enemy blobs. Chasers come straight at you, zippy blobs are fast, tanks are big and heavy, and bombers explode when they go over the edge and blast everything nearby. New kinds join the fight as the clock runs, and the floor shrinks ring by ring until only the centre is left and single tiles start to crack.
Rules
- Push enemy blobs off the arena to score. Tougher enemies are worth more: a chaser gives 100 points, a tank 250.
- Knock out enemies quickly one after another to build a combo: your points are multiplied by the combo.
- The outer ring of the floor breaks away every few seconds, so the arena keeps shrinking.
- You have one life: if you fall off, the run is over. Your best score is saved on your device. Bonk Arena does not give Points.
Tips to win
- Stay near the centre and let the enemies come to you, then dash at them toward the edge.
- Watch for cracking tiles: get off them before the floor drops away.
- Keep away from bombers near the edge; their blast can throw you off too.
