Community Rules

Last updated: 28 October 2026. Neon Arcade is for fun, fair games. These rules keep it friendly and safe for everyone. They apply to player names, preset messages, stickers, emoji and chat.

The basics

  • Be kind. Win well and lose well.
  • Treat the other player the way you want to be treated.
  • Keep chat about the game and having fun.
  • If something feels wrong, mute, block or report. You do not have to answer anyone.

Not allowed

  • Bullying, insults, swearing or harassment, including pushing someone again and again to leave or quit.
  • Hate or attacks because of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, sex, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age.
  • Threats or violence, and terrorist or violent extremist content.
  • Encouraging suicide, self-harm or eating disorders.
  • Sexual messages or adult content of any kind, and anything that sexualises a minor.
  • Sharing intimate images of anyone.
  • Sharing personal details, yours or anyone else’s: real name, address, school, phone number, email, social media or messaging accounts, or photos.
  • Asking another player how old they are, where they live, whether they are alone, or for photos.
  • Asking someone to move to another app, a private chat or a video call.
  • Links, ads, spam, scams, or asking for money, gifts, passwords or codes.
  • Pretending to be someone else, including a moderator or Neon Arcade staff.
  • Gambling or betting on a game.
  • Anything illegal, or trying to get around our filter (for example with odd spellings or extra spaces).

How chat works

  • Everyone can send preset messages, stickers and emoji.
  • Free-text chat is only for signed-in adults (18+): your email is confirmed, your sign-up birth date shows 18+, and you confirm it once more before your first chat. Guests and players under 18 cannot send free-text messages and do not see them.
  • It is off until you turn it on the first time. After that it is on with a friend you invited, and either of you can turn it off. With players you don’t know (quick match), it works only if you both turn on “Chat with players I don’t know” in Settings.
  • An automatic filter checks every message before it is delivered. Messages it blocks are never delivered.
  • Chat is text only: no pictures, files or clickable links. Messages are short.
  • If a message is reported, a moderator may read it. Chat that nobody reported is deleted 24 hours after the match.

Keeping young players safe

  • Players under 18 never get free-text chat. Children under 13 cannot have an account.
  • If you think the other player is under 18, report them with the reason “Child safety / seems under 18”. Their free-text chat is paused at once until a moderator checks.
  • Parents: if you think your child has an account, or you are worried about something they saw, email support@neonarcade.gg and we will help.

Mute, block and report

  • Mute: hides the other player’s chat for you for the rest of the match. They are not told.
  • Block: hides their chat, and quick match will not pair you with them again. They are not told.
  • Report: tap the message or the player’s name and choose Report. Reasons: harassment or hate, sexual content, child safety / seems under 18, sharing personal info, scam or spam, threats or self-harm, intimate image, or something else.
  • When you report a message, we save it with the 10 messages around it from both players, so a moderator can see what happened.
  • Report a username: anyone, even a guest, can use “Report a username” in the footer.
  • We confirm that we got your report, and we’ll let you know what we decide. We never tell the other player who reported them.
  • A person checks reports, aiming for within 24 hours. Child safety and threats come first. If someone is in danger right now, contact your local emergency services first.

What happens if you break the rules

  • Our filter blocks many bad messages before they are sent. Several blocked messages in a short time turn chat off for the rest of the match.
  • After a report, a moderator decides what to do. Depending on how serious it is: no action, the message deleted, chat muted for 24 hours, free-text chat turned off for the account, or the account suspended or banned.
  • If a message suggests someone’s life or safety is at risk, or involves the abuse of a child, we ban at once and may report it to the police or other authorities.
  • Giving a false birth date to use chat turns chat off and can close the account.
  • Making a new account to get around a ban is not allowed and leads to another ban.
  • A chat mute or chat ban never touches your Points. Points are only removed for cheating, or after a person decides a case of serious harm. The Terms of Use explain exactly what happens.

Decisions and appeals

  • If we act against your account or a message, we send you a notice: what we did, which rule it breaks, whether it was decided automatically or by a person, and how to appeal.
  • Think we got it wrong? Tap Appeal on the notice, or email support@neonarcade.gg with your username, within 6 months. A different person looks at it again and replies.
