Privacy Policy

In short

• You can play as a guest, without an account.
• Our own statistics are first-party and anonymous. We use a random visitor ID, and we never store or show your full IP address.
• We honour Do-Not-Track and the Global Privacy Control signal. If your browser sends either, we do not collect any analytics.
• Advertising cookies are only used after you agree, where the law requires consent.
• We never sell personal data, and ads never earn Points.
• You can ask for a copy of your data, or for its deletion, at any time.

Who we are

Neon Arcade is a free browser game site at neonarcade.gg. It is published and operated by Vortaxis Studio (vortaxis.com), which is the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

• Anonymous visitor ID. A random ID stored in your browser (first-party local storage). It lets us count unique visitors and returning visits. It does not contain your name, email or IP address, and we do not share it with other sites.
• IP address, hashed, plus country. Your IP address is used for a moment to work out your country (and, roughly, your city) and to stop abuse. We then keep only a salted one-way hash of it. The full IP address is never written to our database and never shown to anyone, including our admins. The salt is replaced every month, so hashes from different months cannot be linked.
• Device and browser. Device type (phone, tablet, desktop), browser, operating system and screen size, so our games work well on what you use.
• Pages and games. Which pages you open, which games you start and finish, how long a visit lasts, and the site or campaign that sent you (for example a search engine, a social network or a link with UTM tags).
• Account data, if you register. Email address, player name, password (stored only as a salted hash), scores, match results, Points history and any reports you send or receive.
• Messages. If you contact us, we keep the conversation so we can answer you.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, photos or payment details.

Why we collect it

• To run the games, accounts, leaderboards and online rooms.
• To keep play fair: checking scores, limiting abuse and spotting bots.
• To understand which games and pages people enjoy, so we can improve them and fix problems.
• To show ads that keep Neon Arcade free (see Advertising below).
• To answer your messages and requests.

Our legal bases are: providing the service you asked for (contract), our legitimate interest in running a safe and working site, and your consent for optional cookies and personalised ads.

How long we keep it

• Analytics: stored as hourly and daily totals and kept for 13 months, then deleted. Hashed IPs follow the same limit, and their monthly salt is destroyed when it is replaced.
• Account data: kept while your account exists. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days.
• Security and legal records: kept only as long as we must for those reasons.

Cookies and local storage

• Necessary: a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and local storage for guest progress, settings and your privacy choice. The site cannot work without these.
• Analytics (first-party): the anonymous visitor ID described above. You can turn it off at any time with Privacy settings in the site footer. It is never set when Do-Not-Track or Global Privacy Control is on.
• Advertising (only with your consent): when ads are enabled, our ad partners may set their own cookies. We ask first where the law requires it, and you can change your mind at any time.

Advertising

When ads are switched on, Neon Arcade may show ads from Google AdSense and Google H5 Games Ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this and other websites. If you decline, Google may still show non-personalised ads that do not use your browsing history.

You can opt out of personalised advertising in Google Ads Settings or at aboutads.info. Read more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Ads never earn Points, whether you view them or click them.

Partner games

Games on the More Games shelf are hosted by our partner GameMonetize and run inside their embedded player. The partner shows its own ads there and may use its own cookies. Those games load only after you press Play. Their data use is covered by GameMonetize's privacy policy.

Children and families

Neon Arcade offers all-ages games for a general audience. Accounts are for players aged 13 and over, and players aged 13 to 17 cannot earn Points or redeem rewards. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. Personalised ads are not used where we know a player is a child. We never sell data about anyone. If you think a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Who we share data with

We share data only with service providers that help us run Neon Arcade (hosting, email delivery and, when enabled, advertising and Google Search Console reports). They may use it only on our instructions. We may also disclose data if the law requires it. We do not sell or rent personal data.

Your rights

You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your personal data. You can also object to some uses or restrict them, and withdraw your consent at any time. To opt out of analytics, use Privacy settings in the footer or turn on Do-Not-Track. For any other request, email privacy@neonarcade.gg from your account's email address. If you are in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your data protection authority.

Security

Connections use HTTPS. Passwords and IP addresses are stored only as salted hashes, and admin access to the data is limited and logged. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a unique password.
